As a president or membership chair, if you personally ask each member to bring a new member into the club – in an eyeball-to-eyeball conversation over breakfast, lunch, coffee, adult beverage or 2-way telephone conversation – you’ll make progress. You can use this sample script in your “personal ask” to members:
The intentional part is the personal part. It's not an "anonymous" request like a podium announcement or an email broadcast. In those cases, members many times think, "Someone else will do that -- I don't really need to." Take the opportunity to really get everyone involved.
