March 4-11 is still
well into the future, but we have a wonderful traveling team assembled for our annual trip to Honduras.
As the Rotary Wilderness Team founder, I have made annual visits to the Agalta Valley in central Honduras since 1999. This trip is the official international trip of the Rotary Club of Atlanta, but many other Clubs in our district and beyond have joined the team.
For 2023, we already have
60 in the group. If you aren't signed up and want to go, it is important
to send in your $200 refundable deposit now. Make the check to HAVE Foundation
and send it to me (Bob Hope) at Hope-Beckham, Inc., 3343 Peachtree Road NE,
Suite 120, Atlanta, GA 30326. If something comes up and you can't go, let
me know by December 15 and your deposit will be refunded. At that point,
the deposit will be applied against your in-country fee of $950. The
remaining $750 will be due January 15. Here is some basic information
that will hopefully be helpful.
We call our group the Wilderness Team. That started as a joke when we got
lost in the Miami airport but it stuck. Our main focus is supporting the
schools operated by our host, Honduras Outreach HOI.org. HAVE Foundation
was established as a 501(c)3 charity to raise funds to support the
schools. HAVE stands for Honduras Agalta Valley Education; you can learn more at www.havefoundation.org
